A Dose Archiving and Communication System (DACS) is to radiation dose reports what PACS is to DICOM images - a system for archiving and centrally managing ionising radiation doses to which patients are exposed during medical imaging examinations.

The issue of dose exposure in medical imaging is becoming ever more relevant in these days. In Europe, it has been highlighted by the Council Directive 2013/59/EURATOM published on December 5, 2013. The new European Directive lays down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation. Member states of European Community have 4 years to implement the recommendations of the EU Directive into local law.

Medsquare's RDM is a software solution which allows the healthcare providers to collect, control and analyse radiation doses delivered to patients during medical imaging examinations. RDM interfaces with all of the institution’s information systems and fits seamlessly into the imaging network. It helps improve clinical practices and optimise doses.
